At Ashurst, we are passionate about helping founders grow their businesses, leverage new technologies and innovate to solve customer pain points. We have worked with hundreds of founders to protect their interests, negotiate with investors and safeguard the core components of their business. This is why we invest and partner with Fishburners – to help high growth companies navigate venture capital and optimise their business productivity and growth in 2022 and beyond.
We have seen an uptick in tech investment, innovation and sustainability amongst our clients and communities. According to The State of Australian Start-up Funding 2021, there has been a continued rise in investment into Australian start-ups, with total equity investment more than tripling in 2021, from $3.1 billion in 2020 to $10 billion in 2021. Moving forward, we expect to see companies and investors continue to embrace sustainable, digital technologies.
In partnering with Fishburners our goal is to build relationships with high growth companies so we can provide them with the advice they need to successfully grow their business.
Ashurst’s High Growth and Venture Capital team prides itself in sitting at the intersection of technology, investment and law. We have experience guiding emerging growth to later-stage companies through new markets, regulations and risk assessments. We are keen to work with founders at a very early state to make sure they have the right foundation and structures to successfully grow.
Ashurst focuses on creating longstanding relationships with its clients. We have been advising numerous companies and founders since their first round of capital raising, these include Judo Bank, Brighte Capital and Lumi Finance. Already, our High Growth and Venture Capital team have been active in the Fishburners community, working with participants of the Ashurst x Fishburners Investor Ready Pitch Night as they source investment and prepare for their anticipated financings. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these founders and their companies.
Ashurst can help with the first round of funding, commercial arrangements, employment agreements and ESOP, all the way through to an IPO or other form of exit. The philosophy we have is that we partner with high growth companies at the start and we are here to support you as you grow.
We are excited for the initiatives that we host that propel innovation. Ashurst is proud to host the annual Fintech Awards and Proptech Awards to celebrate the achievements of start-ups. We are also looking forward to the launch of the accelerator program, FinTech Legal Labs, designed to provide FinTech businesses with access to leading financial institutions and potential JV investors.
We are looking forward to working with Fishburners and its wider community this year and look forward to the next Ashurst x Fishburners Investor Ready Pitch Night on Friday 6th May. Register here!
