Recently, Fishburners, Australia’s largest startup community, appointed industry leaders Clive Mayhew and Jacqui Feeney to the board of directors.
Clive Mayhew, tech investor and entrepreneur, will chair the Fishburners Board, alongside Jacqui Feeney, media executive, who will join as a director.
Both new board members join Fishburners at a pivotal time, as the not-for-profit organisation strives to increase its impact through their physical and digital incubators.
Mayhew is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience, primarily in the technology industry. He has a range of expertise across international markets, business and angel investment. Mayhew is respected for his volunteer work in establishing the Golf Challenge, Yoga Aid Challenge and mentoring entrepreneurs in the early stages of startups through various not-for-profit and government organisations.
Mayhew commented “I am excited about the opportunity to join the Fishburners board, particularly as they approach their ten year anniversary. It is with great pleasure that I get to be a part of building the vision for the next ten years. The community at Fishburners is what makes it fantastic”.
Feeney is a media, culture and technology executive who has led content, business and technology transformation projects for organisations such as Foxtel, 21st Century Fox and National Geographic and has recently been advising a range of start-ups. Feeney is committed to helping organisations create value and realise ambitious futures while also delivering a positive impact on Australia’s people, products and places.
Jacqui commented, “I am delighted to be joining Fishburners as the lighthouse incubator for Australian start-ups for the past ten years. I am super energised to help Fishburners plot its next phase to create, nurture and champion the diverse businesses and talent of tomorrow”.
Alongside existing board members Annie Slattery, Bilyana Smith, Dany Milham, Rod Bishop and Andrew Thornton, Fishburners CEO Nicole O’Brien is thrilled to welcome both leaders to the board.
Nicole said, “Clive and Jacqui bring with them a wealth of industry experience in the startup ecosystem. It’s a privilege to work alongside these two innovators and I am excited to have them with me as we extend our reach and impact over the next period of our development”.
