Meet Rhoda Esquivel of Woolfie!
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi, I’m Rhoda. I’m a software engineer who’s passionate about technology and building things. I also have a variety of interests, including crime fiction, the UFC, musicals, knitting, anime, and metal music.
Please tell us a little about Woolfie.
Woolfie is a team-building app for Slack to help keep the human connection alive in tech teams. For team leaders and team members alike, it offers a space to keep connected and have fun together, with little to no setup time. It was founded only a few months ago, as I found that it was difficult to find fun activities to do from home with my remote team that didn’t require a lot of setup.
What drew you to the Fishburners Fempowered program?
Fempowered is a chance for me to meet and grow with fellow female founders, which is a rare thing, indeed. This, combined with Fishburners’ reputation in the startup community, makes me feel very privileged to be here!
What about the next 6 months excites you, what are you looking forward to?
I’m really excited to learn all of the things that go with creating a new business. I’m looking forward the most to growing together with my fellow founders.
What message would you like to send to the aspiring Women founders of Australia?
You can start now. Put up a website or set up your social media. Keep doing and learning as much as you can, but also, know your limits. These are strange and unusual times, but you don’t have to wait to start following your true calling.
