Meet Betty Andrews of Hstl&Hrt!

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m really passionate about empowering women, locally and globally. I’ve worked in startups for over 10 years and I really wanted to take my content and community-building skills to create something which could have a big impact.  I learned how hard it was to build a business by myself and coaching really helped me turn that around. But, it wasn’t easy to find a good coach. Now I’m having the time of my life trying to scale this company!

Please tell us a little about Hstl&Hrt.

Hustle&Heart is a social enterprise with one BIG mission: to change the world one womxn at a time.
We do this in a few ways. We connect women to coaches and match them with mentors. We donate profits to rescuing women from poverty and abuse. We also run business and confidence skills programmes to empower marginalised women to get back into work, or create a business.

What drew you to the Fishburners Fempowered program?

I’ve been working with Fishburners for a while, as an events partner and I love everything Nicole and the team does. So when the chance came to join a program with similar values to mine, I jumped.

What about the next 6 months excites you, what are you looking forward to?

I’d say two things – the community of amazing people who are trying to change the world. And the second is learning how we scale Hustle&Heart to be even more of a global business than it already is!

What message would you like to send to the aspiring Women founders of Australia?

It’s attitude, not aptitude that determines altitude. Treat everyone with kindness. AND, you can’t do everything alone, so get help when you need it, whether it’s a mentor, coach or other women in business!
